The Plan

- Received my 3rd grader's monster picture

- Thought about monster design

- Wedged the clay

- Shaped the clay

- Fired monster

- Chose colors that matched the picture and glazed the piece

This was a really fun project. It was important for me to keep the monster looking as much like the picture as possible. I had wanted to design the monster so it would stand up but realized I would have to make the legs much wider than the original picture. If I had the chance to do this project again, I would put less glaze on the piece. I was too heavy with the glaze and it bubbled in places.

It would have been nice to meet the 3rd graders and give them their monsters.
